CANDIDATE PETITIONS 

Candidate petitions are now being issued for U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, State Senate, State Representative, Sullivan County School Board (District 1, 3, 5, 7), and and Constable.  The deadline to file a petition for these offices is Noon, April 5, 2012.  Click here for a list of petitions issued and filed.


2012 PRECINCT REALIGNMENT
The Sullivan County Election Commission has completed the realignment of voting precincts to comply with the redistricting plan adopted by the Sullivan County Commission.  The assigned precinct numbers have been changed to match the county commission district, four precincts have been consolidated, and the voting location for four precincts have changed.  For a complete listing click here.


PHOTO ID REQUIREMENT EFFECTIVE JAN 1, 2012
A new law that takes effect January 1, 2012 requires that a voter present a government issued photo ID before being allowed to vote during early voting or on election day.  For additional information click here.


ADMINISTRATOR ELECTED SECRETARY OF TENNESSEE ASSOCIATION OF ELECTION OFFICIALS

Sullivan County Administrator of Elections Jason C. Booher was elected to the office of Secretary for the Tennessee Association of County Election Officials at the June 2011 Biennial Convention.  The Tennessee Association of County Election Officials represents 475 County Election Commissioners,  Administrators of Election, and Election Office Staff in all 95 counties in the state of Tennessee. Booher joins Darrin Thompson of Henry County who was elected President and Leigh Shlager of Obion County who was elected Treasurer, as one of three statewide officers of the Association.
