In accordance with T.C.A. 2-12-101 five (5) commissioners
are appointed by the State Election Commission to a two (2) year term which begins on the first Monday in April of each odd-numbered year. T.C.A. 2-12-103 directs that three (3) members shall be members of the majority party and two (2) members shall be members of the minority party. In order to be eligible to serve an individual must be a resident of the state of Tennessee for five (5) years and a resident of the county for which they are appointed for two (2) years. T.C.A. 2-12-201 directs that the commissioners are to appoint an administrator of elections who shall be the chief administrative officer of the commission and who shall be responsible for the daily operations of the office and the execution of all elections.
